I love photography. It is my thing! I see the world through my lens. It makes me ask: what am I looking at, what makes this scene special, how can I portray this feeling I am having in a photo (or on a screen these days). It pushes me to get outside and find things, to explore, to research what I see and learn new techniques with editing and creating this website. Photography allows me talk to people outside of my zone to share my enthusiasm and to find out about good spots locally. And importantly, it provides me a way to manage stress, to focus completely on whatever I’m shooting, to escape. Quite possibly, I’m obsessed.

I started with film photography in my early teens with a Ricoh 35mm film camera that belonged to my father. Poor Dad didn’t get to use his camera much! I recently updated to a Canon EOS R5 and I use a collection of lenses that I lug about. Photography remained an important hobby for me as I became a nurse and then a midwife, got married and raised a family. As I entered my middle years, I decided to indulge my passion for photography and reoriented my work life to support travel by becoming a travel nurse. This allowed me to explore the US during cross country drives between Florida and California and the opportunity to expand my photographic journey.
